Mario Sessa, 67, died suddenly on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010 with his family at his side in Colts Neck. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he grew up and started his family before moving to Colts Neck in 1979. He graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1961 and from St. John University in 1965. He married his childhood sweetheart, Irene in 1966 and was the loving father of four children and grandfather of seven. With thirty-five years of service, Mario worked as a Criminal Investigator with US Customs Service and Special Agent for the Drug Enforcement Administration in NY, NJ and DC. He traveled over seventy countries training law officials in the prevention of drug abuses and trafficking. Working with H.I.D.T.A., the NY Regional Training Center, Mario's extraordinary dedication, superior achievement and in-depth knowledge made him the perfect teacher of law enforcers in the tri-state area. He retired in 1998. In preparing for his retirement, Mario and his family purchased and launched Victory Stables of Colts Neck. He loved the daily routine of the horse farm and all of its people. Mario Sessa served proudly as Co-Chairman of the Colts Neck Farmland Preservation. He dedicated his 32 acres of farmland to Monmouth County because of his core belief in preserving open space for future generations.
Mario was predeceased by his father, Alberico; mother, Adele and brother, Alberico. He is survived by his wife, Irene; his daughters, Adele (Cassidy) and Josephine (Agliata); his sons, Alberico and Paul; his daughter-in-law, Jami and son-in-laws, Brendan, Robert and Frederick; his grandchildren, Isabella, Sophia, Abigail, Josephine, Mario, Vincent and Chaz; his sister, Raffaela Restaino.
